NITs are well known for its reputation as it is considered as one of the best Engineering Institutes after IITs. The difference is that NITs take admission through JEE MAIN rank while IITs uses JEE ADVANCED rank to take admission.
Before going to list of NITs in INDIA, note that there are total of 31 NIT in india which offers Engineering and technology based courses at UG (undergraduate) as well at PG (Postgraduate level)
like B.Tech, M.Tech, PhD etc,. Candidate who qualifies JEE MAIN exam , they appear for centralized counselling through JoSAA ( Joint Seat Allocation Authority ) and based on counselling they offered a seat in NITs, IITs, IIITs, GFTIs.
